HISTORY OF THE CRUSADER'S

The Crusaders were formed in 1975 by Norman Collins Jr. (Norman Jr.) with nine young riders, Richard Collins, Mike Costley, Donnie Costley, Marvin Whittaker, Fillmore Costley, Hugo Worsham, James Ellis, Larry Whittaker, and Jim Guntry. They rode hard and partied harder.

James Ellis, a non-riding member and neighborhood friend, drove the assist van. He followed the bikes as they traveled the highways. James also created and designed the patch based on the name Crusaders suggested by a member, approved by Norman Jr, he hand-painted the emblem, and the birth of our rocker and patch was adopted.

There were many members who contributed to the inception of this thriving organization. Richard Collins provided his home for meetings every Tuesday night and Mike Costley had business cards formulated. The Crusaders were in full effect, traveling everywhere and anywhere their hearts desired. The dream became a reality. The club would remain in effect until Norman Jr. lost his battle with cancer.

the rebirth

Around the end of 2014, Double "0" passionately decided to form a new motorcycle club and faced much debate about the name, how to get things started, and gain club membership. He was an original member of the Crusaders formed under Norman Jr. and sought to reinvigorate the old club with new life and seek original members. Double "0" and the "First Lady" started to plan and assert the rebirth of The Crusaders CC into The Crusaders MC.

Double "0" tried to re-create the original club patch from memory. Rumor had it that the co-founder "Cool" still possessed an authentic vest and patch. This discovery enabled the replication of the very first patch with the design falling right in line with the old.

The club was back with an upgrade to the cut and our mission the same: to enhance Brotherhood, riding, and having a good time!

Initially, they were the only two members in the new chapter of the Crusaders, wearing their vests with pride and representing at other motorcycle club functions. Re-opened and now accepting co-ed membership, the club continued to grow with a unique group of riders and instituted club officers, members paying dues, bylaws, and organized rides.

We do not enforce mandatory rides. We behave as a family, host monthly meetings, and always fellowship with food! There is always evidence of extreme fun, support, and love. We strive to continue to grow and form other chapters in different counties and states.
